Angststoornissen bij kinderen: genetische en gezinsinvloeden

Samenvatting

Het verhoogd voorkomen van angststoornissen in sommige families wijst op een overdracht ervan van ouders op kinderen. Er wordt een overzicht gegeven van deze overdracht. Genetische factoren blijken een significante bijdrage te leveren. Zij zijn echter weinig specifiek. Of er werkelijk een angststoornis zal ontstaan, hangt ook samen met omgevingsfactoren. Beschreven wordt hoe genetische en omgevingsfactoren elkaar wederzijds beïnvloeden en welke implicaties dit heeft voor het praktisch handelen.
