Samenvatting

Patella-instabiliteit wordt gekenmerkt door een abnormale beweeglijkheid van de patella in de femorale groeve. Hierdoor ontstaat een onzeker gevoel in de knie en/of anterieure kniepijn. De ernst van de klachten wisselt sterk per patiënt. Zo kan sprake zijn van nauwelijks waarneembare subluxaties tot een volledig geluxeerde patella met zeer invaliderende symptomen. Patella-instabiliteit kan acuut ontstaan ten gevolge van een trauma of geleidelijk. Het is een veel voorkomende oorzaak van anterieure kniepijn.

Vastus medialis obliquus advancement: de m. vastus medialis obliquus krijgt operatief een nieuwe aanhechting op de patella; hierbij komt de spier strakker te staan.
