Samenvatting

Ademgeur komt bij meer dan de helft van de bevolking voor en dan vooral ’s morgens (Courtois, 1986). Een slecht riekende adem komt op alle leeftijden voor en even vaak bij mannen als bij vrouwen. Velen die te kampen hebben met ademgeur zijn zich er niet van bewust. De klachten worden dikwijls schuchter aangebracht door de omgeving, zodat ze tevens een bron vormen voor psychosociale problemen.
